The organization was created because of the needs I have seen in this community while working as a firefighter/paramedic and as the Bullhead City Fire Department Chaplain. Also from the grief my wife and I have experienced in losing the life of our first daughter, Gabriella Shalom Kreidel, when she was 17 days old.

The BHC Random Acts Organization is made up of different branches that all work together in creating Random Acts of Kindness in this community. The Bullhead City firefighters are out in the community serving every day. In doing this they see and experience things no one else does; such as death, babies drowning, trauma, suicides, and families destroyed by fire. It has been said that a firefighter carries with him a journal in his mind full of memories like these. This journal will stay with them even long after retirement. The BHC Random Acts goal is to create better pages in these firefighter’s journals and help build a better community.

Firefighters handle every medical or fire emergency they are called to. Many times firefighters will come across a need in the community that is not within their ability to manage from a fire truck or an ambulance. The firefighters treat the patient in medical need, but the domestic need is often left unattended and the firefighters have to respond to the next call carrying with them the burden knowing this.

The BHC Random Acts Organization will be a tool in the hand of firefighters that they can utilize and be able to see some of these unmet needs taken care of. When a firefighter sees a need in a home at 3:00 A.M he can take note of the circumstance and submit it to the Random Acts board.  Once this need has been exposed and reviewed by the board this unmet need will now become a Random Act of Kindness.
